Sarin Air Law Moot
The Air Law Moot is organised by Leiden University's International Institute of Air and Space Law and India's Sarin Memorial Legal-Aid Foundation. It simulates proceedings before the International Court of Justice, and recent issues include the regulation of air navigation facilities and state responsibility for aerial incidents. Judges of the competition are usually aviation law academics and experts. Due to travel restrictions brought about by COVID-19, the 2019/20 edition only awarded memorial prizes, and the 2020/21 and 2021/22 editions held online. While smaller-scale aviation law moots bearing similar names have been held before in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, the Air Law Moot was the first competition on the subject matter and remains the only international competition.
